Dr. Haitham Sawalmeh has over 12 years of experience in the field of general and laparoscopic, bariatric, colorectal and trauma surgeries. He graduated from the Jordanian board in General Surgery and started working in Rashid Hospital in 2012. He is vastly experienced in many open and laparoscopic elective and emergency cases including bariatric surgeries, explorative laparotomies, bowel resection and anastomosis, Hartmann's procedure, diagnostic laparoscopy, laparoscopic appendectomy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and minor surgical procedures.
Dr. Haitham has been a member of the gastro-surgical oncology team and has been involved in the creation of work flows and protocols to deliver patient-centric services. As part of the Proctology team, he gained expertise in the management of anal conditions including hemorrhoidectomy, THD, Fistulectomy, Fistula Laser Closure (FiLaC) and Sphincterotomy.
A member of Jordanian Medical Association, Emirates Medical Association, Alexandria Endoscopy Association and an associate fellow member of American College of Surgeons (ACS), Dr Haitham has also been a supervisor to residents in the preparation of surgical oncology cases for multidisciplinary meetings.
