Dr. Mandeep Lamba brings an outstanding experience of two decades of practicing Ophthalmology and Retina, being associated with organizations with the most modern & state-of-the-art Ophthalmology setups. In his career, Dr. Lamba has performed over 7000 retina and 10000 cataract procedures in India, UAE, USA, Mauritius, Madagascar, Rwanda & Nepal.

 As an avid speaker, Dr. Mandeep Lamba has delivered close to 200 orations in various national and international Ophthalmology forums. Dr. Lamba has had honored to perform live surgeries (both Retina & cataracts) several times in ophthalmology conferences.

 As a faculty/trainer Dr. Mandeep Lamba has been involved with various residency programs across India, Africa & UAE to train young Ophthalmologists. Dr. Lamba has served as a lead trainer for the Surgical Retina fellowship program at Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, Chennai, India.

  • Most Memorable Moment: Performing Bilateral cataract surgery with multifocal lens for his mother. She never required to wear glasses after that.
  • Most Challenging Moment: Performing retinal surgery for his mother-in-law in the year 2012. A decade later, she continues to be his mother-in-law.

  • Postgraduate from Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital (AEH), Chennai, India. AEH is currently the world’s largest chain of standalone eye hospitals.
  • Retina and Uvea fellow from Eye Research Centre (ERC), Chennai, India. ERC is a sister concern of AEH.
  • Advanced Surgical Retina fellowship from New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, New York, USA. Was trained in Ocular Oncology under Dr. Paul Finger in New York.
  • Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, FACS.
  • Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons, FRCS, Glasgow, UK.

Experience:

  • Dr. Lamba has been a Consultant & Head of Dr. Agarwal’s Retinal Foundation, Chennai, India.
  • Before moving to UAE, Dr. Lamba served as a Medical Director & lead retina surgeon at Dr. Agarwal’s Healthcare, Hyderabad, India.
  • Dr. Lamba was associated with Orbit international as a traveling retinal surgeon to Mauritius & Rwanda for three years. 
  • Before joining Prime Hospital, Dr. Lamba worked at Dubai Hospital (Dubai Health Authority) for six years as a service provider for Retina, cataract, and Retinopathy of prematurity.
  • Co-researcher for Indo-German ISRAM project for ocular imaging, Glued IOL surgery & Lipschitz Macular Implant for Age-related macular degeneration.
